Today was an incredible day. It was an easy descent through beautiful peaceful forest down to the hut.
Not far into the day we took the side trail down to Travers Falls and I stood there marvelling at the sheer force of the water cascading down the rock.
We wandered through the forest, crossing some bridges and passing another waterfall.
We then emerged into the open valley for the last couple of KMs and it was HOT! Walking through tussock with no shade during the heat of the day is tough.
Eventually we made it to the hut and relaxed all afternoon, reminiscing on what an incredible section this has been.
